Hooray I have work selected for The Big Show at Lawndale Art Center

About The Big Show
The Big Show is Lawndale Art Center's annual open-call, juried
exhibition. It has been an important venue through which emerging

Lawndale supporters gear up for ‘The Big Show’

Board members and supporters of the Lawndale Art Center gathered at the home of Jenny and Mark Johnson to greet the guest curator of the 2011 installment of The Big Show, the alternative art space’s annual juried open-call exhibition.
Guests sipped margaritas and wished Larissa Harris, curator at the Queens Museum of Art in New York, luck with the daunting task of sifting through the 972 artworks submitted by 404 Houston-area artists.
(Over the next two days, Harris selected 125 works by 74 artists. Her picks go on view July 1-30 at Lawndale; a selection of rejected works can be seen at Salon des Refusés July 1-9 at Gallery M Squared.)

Jenny and Mark Johnson held a private reception for Larissa Harris, the 2011 juror for The Big Show, the Lawndale Art Center's annual open-call, juried exhibition.
